With French posters, warm colours and French background music, dining at The Corner Bistrot can easily make you feel like you are in Paris. You can absorb the ambience, dream of future travels or simply enjoy the great food that bistrot cooking has to offer.
Some of the classic favourites, like escargots, canard and crème caramel are always on the menu and the blackboard incorporates seasonal produce and French regional dishes. Chef owner Vic Larosa, a former butcher, prides himself in only selecting top quality meat that is cut to order and served with a delicious sauce that is individually made, including the renowned Blue Cheese and Green peppercorn sauce as a choice for the Entrecôte or a ‘duo de Canard’ with mushrooms and truffle paste. There is always a selection of perfectly ripe French cheeses served with homemade bread or a choice of house made desserts including the famous ‘tarte au Citron’, which has many clients returning.
The Wine list has a good selection of French and local wines, some of which are available by the glass.
Vic shares his passion, enthusiasm and experiences in the restaurant with regular clientele and new diners alike. Vic trained and worked in France for six years before returning to Adelaide where he opened the Corner Bistrot. The restaurant has been operating for 13 years and relocated into the current premises in 2005. Vic lives in a nearby beach suburb with his partner and three young children.
